What We Do

Public Goods Group works with hospitals and health systems, governments, companies and corporations, nonprofits, and funders and grantors. Some of what we do is specific to a particular kind of organization. A lot of it is not. What is always true is that every client we take on is our client, and we are just as invested in their success as we are in the communities they serve. If you are not sure where you fit, start with what you are trying to solve.

The hardest problems in community health and economic opportunity don’t come with easy answers. Public Goods Group works with the organizations closest to those problems to build strategies grounded in data, shaped by context, and designed to hold up in the real world.

We work across four sectors:

Hospitals and Health Systems: From community health needs assessments to community benefit strategy, we help health systems understand the communities they serve and build programs that actually respond to what they find.

Grantors and Funders: We work with philanthropic funders and grant administrators to design smarter programs, measure what matters, and make the case for sustained investment in the people and places they serve.

Nonprofits: We support nonprofits with grant administration, program design, data analysis, and strategy, so the organizations doing the work on the ground have the infrastructure to do it well.

Governments and Policy: Good policy is specific. It accounts for what the language actually does, not just what it intends to do, and anticipates where good intentions meet complicated reality. We work with government agencies and policy teams at every level to analyze legislation, develop strategy, design programs that deliver, and identify and secure government funding for rural health and community development initiatives.
