Data

At PGG, we thrive on using data to inform decisions and to help us focus on what’s most important. To that end, we regularly pull public health data that’s relevant to the issues we strive to address. Each month, we’ll publish a dataset to display key areas of need.

LOW FOOD ACCESS

Hunger can be hard to recognize but it is all around us. Millions of Americans face food insecurity each day. County are food insecure. Essentially, someone who is food insecure does not consistently have enough food to lead a healthy life. The effects of food insecurity ripple throughout people’s lives, causing high levels of stress and chronic health issues.

By breaking the cycle of food insecurity, we can help our communities thrive.

Below is a map that shows low food access by both state and county. We compare states and communities to relevant counterparts so we’re able see where the problem is most prevalent.
